Energy Management: A Key to Better Outcomes in Legal Matters
We all know change is constant. When facing a significant change like a move, divorce, or other legal matter, you may face any number of these challenges:
Constantly feeling stressed
Unable to manage work/life balance and time issues
Difficulty performing at work and home
Self-sabotaging behaviors and inaction
Feeling distracted and unable to focus
Inability to set goals and plan
These challenges are tracked back to one thing: energy. However, our energetic response to the situation is something we have control over.
Everything is energy, and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality; it can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.
The first step to managing your energy is to become aware of your beliefs, how they feel, and the actions you take because of them.
Anabolic energy is constructive, expanding, healing, and growth oriented. The cornerstone of high performance, anabolic energy fuels your body and helps you move forward. Anabolic hormones heal, build tissue, generate cells, and allow the body to optimize itself. As a result, it is easier to maintain moods, a solution focus, and feel energized.
Catabolic energy is draining, resistant, and contracting. Catabolic energy shows up in the form of stress. When we sense a situation as being stressful, we may feel fear, doubt, worry, overwhelmed, frustration, anger, resentment, or entitlement. When this happens, your brain signals your body to generate catabolic hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) to give you the energy to deal with it. The power comes from the same cells and tissues of your body. This extra energy allows you to move to action, but long-term stress can impact your well-being as it exhausts your physical, mental, and emotional resources. When experiencing catabolic energy, your focus is on the pain or problem. Catabolic energy isn’t bad. It is just a indicator of stress that is draining you. If you can get to the root of it, you can release it.
How do we shift our energy from catabolic to anabolic? The first step is to become an observer of our thoughts. When you take responsibility for your thoughts, you can then choose to change them and act.
